I've done it as well, and you are not crazy. It's absolutely true that the CAF does not discriminate based on age. If you are committed and you are working out hard you will make it through. The opportunity is there for those that really want it.
I would love to hear anybody speak about their experience as a ResF cook. I saw them out once on an Ex, they had a walk through food truck, we brought our canteen cups and they filled it with a meal (breakfast) it was actually pretty cool. I am interested to know why we so rarely see them out...
