    Speaking of combats for cadets.....

I'd have to agree with you on this. Plus, after reading reviews of the kiddy cadpat as far as functionality goes, it's made of something similar to denim that doesn't dry very quickly, which makes it impractical for field use.

    Speaking of combats for cadets.....

I believe the post by Boysen is the version they were discussing, not the kiddy cadpat stuff in the other pic.

    Speaking of combats for cadets.....

Apparently there has been some discussion about some type of corps issued work dress uniform for army cadets that is currently being implemented or will be shortly. From what I understand it will be similar to the old style OD combat uniform, with some minor differences. Anyone know if there is...

    BFT for CIC Officers.

Interesting thread. I would suspect part of the lack of a fitness requirement for the CIC basically falls back on the the ideology that many CIC officers aren't and won't ever be soldiers. Many join the CIC as a result of their own children being involved in the cadet program, they want to be...

    combats

Army Issue located in Mississauga tends to carry items like this that are in at least 8 out of 10 condition, sometimes better or new. Good Luck.

Question about foreign service, medals and badges and para course for C.I.C.

I agree with you 100%, if you have legit awards inside the system, then there shouldn't be any reason you shouldn't be allowed to wear them.

Question about foreign service, medals and badges and para course for C.I.C.

Well, I guess I forced into the pissing competition just to validate my opinion, lol. ::) ::) ::) which was the point of my comment, it's unfortunate that a blood sample needs to be provided in this forum just to offer an opinion. As far as my earlier reference goes, I was at a mess dinner a...

Question about foreign service, medals and badges and para course for C.I.C.

Well, I'm certainly not a Walt hunter by any stretch. My comments in this thread are more than worthy in my opinion, since everyone in here seems to be contradicting each other with whatever info is being posted. There doesn't seem to be clear answer because it's obvious that whatever...

Question about foreign service, medals and badges and para course for C.I.C.

I wasn't aware that I had to post my service experience as well (like many of the braggarts found here seem to do every other minute), to qualify my opinion. The original question of that thread you quoted me from was asking what cadet qualifications people had. Typically infantry guy trying to...

Question about foreign service, medals and badges and para course for C.I.C.

Well, judging by all of the responses, it doesn't seem to be 100% clear as what is what because it seems everyone is on their own plan. Doesn't it? While I think medals are an important part of the overall experience of putting yourself at risk, my attitude about this specific topic is somewhat...

Question about foreign service, medals and badges and para course for C.I.C.

Wow, this is a nutty topic. Just wear them all together on a blue blazer or something, not much anyone can do about that.

Expedition Instructor. What do I need?

There was one specific lengthy portage that we decided to put in midstream (to avoid humping it through the bush), in the middle what would be at least a level IV rapid. In the middle of the rapid, down at the bottom of a somewhat treacherous chute, there was a green canoe (exactly like those we...

Expedition Instructor. What do I need?

Yup, you called it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dumoine_River What trip that was, some nutty white water. Can remember prior to that trip, we would all stop at the top of a rapid run, carefully plot our course out before we went down. By the end of the Dumoine trip, the guy in the bow would...

Cadets and the C7, and other rifles. Let me end the discussion once and for all

This is true. However, here in southwestern Ontario it's quite difficult for some cadets in this area to get on these. This is because many of those Range Ex weekends that the various reserve units around here partake in, take place up near Barrie. This is technically out of our region so the...

Expedition Instructor. What do I need?

My mistake, it was in '86, not '85. We did several 1-3 day canoe trips that summer, most were local to the Petawawa/Algonquin area, but we did do a 10 day 200k trip (the "demoine river" in Quebec, not sure of spelling). Most of our staff were pretty capable/compitent people, but we did have...

Expedition Instructor. What do I need?

Wow, this thread is a freaking riot.  >:D >:D >:D Having been on both sides of the fence with this one, I can certainly understand this young chap's question, and, of course all of the answers too. Joining instructions have been around for decades, they are effective and work over & over...

    CL Marksman Cut in half?

Thanks for this info, I'll pass it along to those that are interested.

    CL Marksman Cut in half?

I was talking with somebody fairly far up in the food chain in the CIC last week, he told that ALL the second year CL camps have been or will be cut to 3 weeks in Ontario. He also told me that they are intending to run two sessions of each back to back as well. I would suspect in the end this...
