Looking for advice & words of wisdom

Thank you all for your posts and advice. I believe the problem I am having lies with the trade I have selected. I feel like it will have little benefit to my civilian life after, I have contacted my recruiter and asked him to help me out a little in terms of trade switching, as I understand it...

Looking for advice & words of wisdom

I just got the call last week and was given a job offer in Field Artillery. I am 21 and have been waiting a year for the application to go through. Now that the moment is upon me after a year of waiting I almost feel like I don't want to take this path anymore... It is odd, my views on how I...

    BMQ - April 2011

I have been called in for the April 11th BMQ - Field Artillery This might be the wrong place to ask this, but what happens after BMQ? Are we given a few days off before we go to our SQ/MOC?

p90x to make BMQ PT a bit easier. Good/Bad Idea.

Honestly, there are some aspects of P90X that I like and some I don't. So i end up selecting some of their work outs and implementing it all into a workout of my own. Works great because I get the endurance as well as the weight training I do on my own.

    I'm starting to get discourage

I am in almost an identical situation mate. I applied in April 2010 and got all my testing done in a months time. All I've been doing is checking in with the recruitment center every other month, working out and just trying to keep myself busy. I applied for Infantry/Artillery and was told...

    linkinarmy stories

I completed my testing in April and was told I could be waiting till next year April when the recruit count is done for that training year as all the trades I selected (Combat Trades) were full for this year. Kind of sucks that I have to wait around for an entire year, but I am determined to...

    Call of Duty: Black Ops

When I first looked at it, it seemed like another CoD. What really got my attention was the different game modes. If you have played Counter Strike, you will know exactly what "gun game" is and how much fun it is. The fact that they are implementing a "wager" system into a game makes it even...

Medal of Honor (the game) Controversy

What it comes down to is that its an arcade style game. I am quite positive that the developers had no intention of offending anybody that was present during the conflict.

Physical Fitness (Jogging, Diet, Cardiovascular, and Strength )

I am personally preparing for BMQ myself, I just got my paper work done and was told to expect to be in BMQ roughly around September - November. I visit the gym 3-4 times a week and generally switch my workouts around... Abs every other day + Shoulders/Back one day, chest and biceps the other...

    August 2010 BMQ

Yeah Combat Arms seems to be majorly packed... I spoke to a recruiter at the recruiting center in Toronto when I went for my CFAT and I was told that there was plenty of space in Infantry as well as Artillery at that time. I then came back 3 weeks later for my Medical and Interview and was...

What PC Video Game Are You Playing Now?

I've been playing the Battlefield Series of ages, with Bad Company 2 now and on weekends usually play Armed Assault 2 (Combat Simulator) in an organized scenario based Tournament called Armed Global Warfare with some friends (many of whom are current or ex-military)

    Generation Kill: Show vs Book

I really enjoyed Generation Kill, I have yet to read the book. As far as "One Bullet Away" goes, fantastic...Just an amazing written piece of work. I also just finished "Citizen Soldiers" by Stephen E. Ambrose (Writer of Band of Brothers) which I personally just loved as it takes accounts from...

Have you contacted your local recruiting Office? I had to book my dates and times for the CFAT/Interview/Med so if you haven't done that already you'll end up waiting forever

Video Allegedly Shows U.S. Soldiers Shooting Dead Civilians in Iraq

Not sure if you guys have heard of the book called "The Good Soldiers" by David Finkel, but he saw this footage right after it happened and apparently was present in the AO at the time... He is interviewed by Neal Conan on NPR, it's a really interesting read as it talks about the situation that...
