Oh I know that, the most confusing part that boggles the clerk and myself is that on all of my official paperwork it notes Pte (T) which is wrong then because in the regs don't you need 30 months to be Pte (T)? Once you get Pte (T) you can technically be promoted to Cpl within 6 months upon...
I've been reg force for just over a year and my clerk and and sergeant major have been a bit bewildered by my promotion paperwork. I came over as Pte (T) as a skilled CT during that arty signing bonus time and was allowed to keep my "hook" as I came over to the regs as skilled. However on my EPZ...
It's hard to say which one is better to be honest, yes if you go PRes and decide later on that you want RMC you will get paid more than say an standard OCdt fresh out of high school or whatever. Also you'll gain some respect for what the majority of what NCO's go through on a "daily" basis. Also...
Another quick hijack here,
I was taught that if an officer has neither head dress on or has his arms full it is acceptable to smartly snap your hands to the side and pay compliments that way. I was told by one of my buddies that you still salute no matter what. What's the correct procedure for...
I just did a component transfer and it's still known as IRP at least in CFSU(O) OR it is. What I experienced is that IRP will contact you and the first meeting will just to sit down and get acquainted with one another and sign some basic paper work. After that they will figure out what's your...
I recently got my offer for a CT and was half-expecting to have to re-do one or more of my courses namely DP1. So when my offer came in, lo and behold I wouldn't have to do any courses over again!
I understand that in PRes you only do up to Mod 4(I believe) of your DP1 FD Artymen, and in reg's you go up to Mod 6(Once again I believe). Can anyone clarify this for me and explain what the last two mods are? I'm going to go out on a limb and guess the 81mm mortar and the M777?
Thanks.
While out in beautiful Meaford on my SQ one of the guys in the next platoon over to us got up close and personal with an arty sim and it burnt his nice little hooch to smithereens. Same course as well we put one in an empty 7.62 ammo box and that thing must have gone around 75 meters in the area...
Just making sure since it's my father's(Air Force) New Year's Levee and his CWO will be inspecting and I don't want to be making the old man look bad since the only footwear I was issued reserve side were these oxfords :S Thanks for the posts.
Attending a New Year's Levee and it's supposed to be 1A's and just looking through my footwear I was issued and I only see Oxford's isn't the standard army footwear for DEU's supposed to be those ankle boots? I'm not to sure on matter can anyone shed some light on the situation?
I looked at the pros/cons of being an officer/ncm and all it came down to was that I like getting my hands dirty and on the ground doing the dirty work. As for choosing trades all it came down to was which unit was closest to me so yes I'm PRes as of right now. Due to the OC Transpo strike here...
In Ottawa also make sure you have someone with a few more hooks around when getting your initial issue of kit. One of my buddies when he still had his cornflake went in and asked for a gerber to which the supply tech replied with "Do you have your gerber qualification?". They just love screwing...
