CANFORGEN on Rhabdomyolysis & INTENSE PHYSICAL EXERCISE OR EXTREME CONDITIONING PROGRAMS (ECP S)

This seems a little strange. If you follow the links in the CANFORGEN, there is an advisory from DFHP and it looks like this whole thing started when 3 people presented with ER in sometime in May 2012 from the same base. Only 2 of them said they were doing CrossFit. They also went back and...

    CELE Officers on Air-force.ca?

If I spend any time on the milnet forums, I usually browse around here.

    CELE COURSE IN KINGSTON

I went through ROTP, so they knew I was coming through for awhile. I graduated in May, went on OJT for the summer, now on course. They've generally been trying to run two serials of the course per year, so you should be on it by next spring or fall. Good luck!

    CELE COURSE IN KINGSTON

Do you have any specific questions? I'm only a few weeks into it - so far it's a lot of powerpoint, self study and a couple of assignments. Isn't that the million dollar question? I would say similar characteristics and skills required for any officer to be a good CELE officer (integrity...

Prospective student for RMC, worried about extra-curricular activities.

Red_Lion: To add one more encouraging voice: go for it. I just finished RMC, had minimal *school* extra curriculars in high school but was extremely active as a sea cadet (biathlon, shooting, chief of the corps, etc). Your martial arts experience sounds like excellent reference material, and as...

Communications and Electronics Engineering ( CELE )

Disclaimer: Not a fully qualified CELE O here, but I'veĀ  done a few summers worth of OJT(CFS Alert, Greenwood, and this summer at CFNOC). Just to make sure we're clear, by CELE, I'm referring to the CELE(air) occupation. There used to be a CELE(land), but now there's just Signals on the Army...

CELE....posting locations after Basic and Kingston???

haha, I've picked up a few of these acronyms this summer. On top of those there's the units under CFIOG. Jack: what kind of work are you interested in? I'll see you on course in a few months...

    Crossfit & the CF

Are you legitimately trying crossfit, or just trying to get a rise out of everyone? From your previous post in this thread here (http://forums.army.ca/forums/threads/42068/post-631601.html#msg631601) you definitely didn't seem too open to it.

    Crossfit & the CF

Are you close to any affiliates out there? Most of them have drop in rates, it's always fun to do a group crossfit workout every now and then. Anyone else on here heading to the TO cert? I jumped on it as soon as I found out about it, I didn't even realize it was thanksgiving weekend. It's...

    Crossfit & the CF

punkd: It looks like you posted a new topic that got merged into this one. I imagine if you read through all 9 pages you'll get more info than you ever wanted. Quick answer: I've seen people (of all colours of uniform - I'm blue myself) doing crossfit or crossfit-like workouts in Kingston and...

Equipment at gym?? What does your base have?

CrossFit is getting pushed big on the army side of things, but every CF gym I've been to (Greenwood, Alert, Leitrim, Kingston) at least have a squat rack and bars. Kingston's the only one with a set of rubber weights that I've seen. I've done cleans with iron weights before, never gone heavy on...

    LOST WITH ROTP

BK: Just curious, they wanted you to do CHEMICAL engineering as a CELE(AIR)? I figured they would have suggested electrical or computer... Anyhow, good luck and have fun! From what I've seen so far, CELE(Air) is a pretty sweet trade.

    Advice on ROTP Problem

I would say it depends on your working relationship with your CO, or if there's anyone more junior in the unit that may be able to help you. Yes, the CO and your unit aren't really involved in the ROTP application process, however, they know you and know the system. Sometimes you have to fight...

    Living at the RMC

I haven't looked into this myself, so I can't confirm nor deny for sure. The last thing that was passed down that I remember about this was that the DCdts will be taking a much closer look at each case.

    Living at the RMC

10 years? As far as I know it only just started last year and will end next year. As a lab rat in this socialization experiment, I have to say I've enjoyed living off. It's definitely added a few challenges - ie/ biking to the college at 0630 in hail, being the first year CFL - but I didn't...

    My situation (RMC)

if you're going into RMC through ROTP, you're contract should only be 9 years (unless you're a pilot or nav). As someone else already stated, the recruiting center should be able to clear this up for you.

    Best age to exercise/weight train?

I don't think it's ever too early or too late to start exercising - the key is keeping at it. Just make sure you know what you're doing, especially when it comes to lifting heavy.
