Will you ever lose your sub pay?

Thanks guys. This is all good to know. If I get accepted to UTPNCM I will probably be the highest paid officer cadet around. I appreciate your replies.

Will you ever lose your sub pay?

I am being screened for submarine service and I am trying to get into the UTPNCM program. I have heard that you will never lose your sub pay. As an E-Tech, I will lose my spec pay because it is considered a voluntary occupational transfer. So the question is, if I go UTPNCM would I lose my sub pay?

Fire in Halifax today. North End Pub?

It is indeed a sad day. For those of you who are interested, here is an article from the local news paper. http://www.herald.ca/Front/563211.html Way to go Slayer band. I hope their kit was insured. I am sure the Grafton Connor Group will rebuild. Joe's seemed to be a pretty happening place...

For all you retired NWTs and Etechs... Got work???

Not that it really has much to do with my current focus, I am doing rather well on my technical training (top of the class remind you). It is just a mere curiosity as to what others are doing. I started working on civy street as an industrial electrician, and realistic as it is, I intend to...

Canadian sailor died in a port visit to the Bahamas...

This was a shocker as I read the sunday morning paper on-line... http://www.herald.ca/NovaScotia/538828.html I have had the privelledge to know and sail with him. He was a man who worked hard and played harder. He always had a smile and being the Newf that he was, he put many smiles on...

For all you retired NWTs and Etechs... Got work???

I thought I would start a new thread with this instead of hijacking Carlos' thread on starting off as an NWT. Here I am starting my career as an E-Tech, I am on my fives now, and I got thinking about what is available when you cross the line onto civy street. I know what the trades outline on...

    Naval Weapons Tech

But here is the question... As an NWT, with all your training, what can you do with it when you get out?

    Naval Weapons Tech

Congrats on your call. I am not an NWT but I have seen my fair share of them. Its not too bad, its a long course and they seem to be back logged so you have to wait a while before you can get trained. Other than that... I hope you like playing cards and you may want to do a search on PAT...

    Happy Hallowe'en!

We were all allowed to dress up here at CFNES Halifax. It is Tuesday so we still had hands fall in this morning. I was all dressed up as the "SifNess" Slasher and I was the one that got to call the drill for our platoon. Nothing like good drill with a Jason mask and a bloody knife. Needless to...

    Canadians Flocking To Recruiting Centers

I think this is good to see in the midst of the anti-recruiting campaign of "Operation Objection". I guess people will do what they want to.

    Google-earth sightings....

Looks like they have updated their maps in Norfolk. There used to be one of our CPFs there on the previous version. You could tell by the green flight deck and the unmistakable silhouette of the mast and funnel. Here is another interesting coordinate, not really a navy site but it is the Bone...

The Best Pranks and Practical Jokes...

The rotting stinky fish in the truck is a classic, well done! Another good one happened to my boss. We were having a hanger party on the Montreal, and one of his friends poured three boxes of cereal in his cart. Coming back down for bed, he was surprised when he crawled in. He bundled up his...

The Best Pranks and Practical Jokes...

Living in close quarters, we tend to make a few friends and a few enemies. Life can get a bit monotonous and needs a little livening up. One of the common ways is a little prank here and a little joke there. What is the best that you have heard or done? I'll go first... On a six month NATO...
