More Than Half (56%) of Canadians Consider Canada’s Armed Forces to be Old and Antiquated

Part of the swim kit was supposedly rubber plugs that you placed in the drain hole. The wheels were supposed to be able to drive it at a slow speed. Both were just feasible enough that we accepted them as possible and never bothered verifying as we didn't really care at the time.

    Change from NCM to officer

assuming you are going regular force my personal recommendation is if you can go officer then do it. Over the long run your base pay will be better and when you retire your pension will be higher. I also suggest you contact your recruiting staff to discuss this soonest.

More Than Half (56%) of Canadians Consider Canada’s Armed Forces to be Old and Antiquated

I was instructing when we rolled it so I just tested the students on "self-recovery). Didn't cost anything. :) Maybe someone here actually knows the truth. We were excited about the iltis as it was supposed to be able to swim across small bodies of water. Problem was that when the deal...

I liked the MLVW, Iltis and Js (both of those jeeps had different values). Iltis was knocked a lot but how could you not have a soft spot for a vehicle you could start with a bic pen and if it rolled have a few guys flip it up.

Allowances - Post Living Differential (PLD) [MERGED]

That poison is my life blood in the morning. No half a pot of coffee to wake up and no work gets done.

    Yellowknife posting

    1. Yes - that is a risk with any posting we may get though. I turned it down as it was not suitable for my family but others I know have gone and liked it. I was warned not to have small pets as if they get out things go bad quick for them. 2. You do get LTA to visit family, I believe as...

Allowances - Post Living Differential (PLD) [MERGED]

That is exactly my point - people don't want to put in the effort and would rather pass the buck or don't have the support. The process itself isn't actually hard. You do the documents, have an occasional meeting. know of cases where instead the supervisor opted to give a blazing PER to the...

Allowances - Post Living Differential (PLD) [MERGED]

We do have the ability to fire people. The problem is most people don't want to do the work involved or won't get the support from the chain of command to carry through. C&P although meant with the main goal of helping the member become a good addition to the CAF does have an end state of...

Allowances - Post Living Differential (PLD) [MERGED]

They should have stayed with the FOA, maybe increased the daily amount. the other half isn't happening because we don't have that cool game yet. Need the remote and AI to make it like an online game they can play. Imagine the recruiting possibilities then. No medical or physical required...

Allowances - Post Living Differential (PLD) [MERGED]

been saying 2 for a crap load of years now. I even go as far as to say freeze the pay for a few years and make it tax free. I would be happy with that and my filing with CRA would be a lot easier. linking sea pay to sailing time isn't really that hard. The ship sails, take a roll call and...

Bringing 'Em Back or Not? (I.D.'ed Cdn ISIS fighters, families, kids?)

Never said the government, said we, the people of Canada, the press, some politicians that think they will benefit. In a quick search a couple links to the press and family bemoaning their plight. The first one the government didn't fight tooth and nail, they made an agreement instead...

Bringing 'Em Back or Not? (I.D.'ed Cdn ISIS fighters, families, kids?)

No, I am saying if they have left Canada to go to another country and join a group there that Canada wash their hands of them, remove their citizenship and recognize them as a member of that nation instead. Yeah, yeah, international law, constitution, etc etc. Amend our own stuff to...

Bringing 'Em Back or Not? (I.D.'ed Cdn ISIS fighters, families, kids?)

Charter/constitution can be amended and should be. If they have left Canada and sworn allegiance to another country/terrorist group then they are now recognized as a citizen of that country and not Canada. Let's stop with treating them special. As for dealing with our own garbage, if I put...

    Question re rel item . . .

Haven't seen it changed to 3B but haven't dealt with releases in a while. last I saw was that it could be changed to add something about medical to the release so that the member could get some of the benefits.

amend things. Any Canadian Citizen that joins a terrorist organization or foreign military is deemed to have surrendered their Canadian Citizenship along with all rights associated with it. All Canadian documentation will immediately become null and void. The lawyers can all fix it up...
