Honestly, I hope so; that's got to be the most peaceful "war" happening in the world right now.
Personally, I agree to the suggestion of some to split Hans Island in half, west half to Nunavut, east half to Greenland. There, problem solved!
Well, if you want to go for "battle" names, you can't do better than choose fifteen from the following:
Her Majesty's Canadian Ship Batoche
Her Majesty's Canadian Ship Paardeburg
Her Majesty's Canadian Ship Gallipoli
Her Majesty's Canadian Ship Arras
Her Majesty's Canadian Ship Beaumont-Hamel...
Honestly, if people are SO stupid that they'd refuse a PROVEN vaccine to protect themselves from a deadly pandemic, the sooner they're out of the CF the better. Never mind the whole "refuse a superior officer's direct order" thing, we don't NEED that level of STUPIDITY in the military!
Sad for Suffield, but I can understand why the British are moving to clear out of the area if they wish to reorientate to a more "global" posture; after all, our corner of the world is rather quiet in comparison to the Middle East and eastern Europe.
Still, it would be good for 1 CMBG to spread...
Much that I admire all the work that the Dutch do when it comes to shipbuilding, I have to admit they're NOT so original when it comes to NAMING said ships. Honestly, recycling names again and again and again gets...well, BORING!
Personally, so am I. I just wish that the government would do something about getting more shipyards involved so we could get hulls into the water faster; not just the Type 26s but the AOPS, the JSS and everything else.
That's good. When I went to CFSAL in the late 1980s, there were new temp residence blocks close to the school building and that area's pretty crowded as is.
Where exactly on the base is this going up? As noted before, Borden's quite the sprawl. Is it on the south side by CFSATE, the centre part by CFLTC or the north side by CFMPA?
Sad news...

Given where that kingpost is - and that it seems to be a temporary setup on the flight deck of all the places on the ship! - something tells me that doing a RAS evolution will be a sort of "done by necessessity" function.
In other words, if an AOPS needs to fuel up, head to a port and do it there.
