Your CofC doesn't "approve" your OT. It pays to understand how the process works. Your unit is limited to their recommendation; if they aren't recommending/supporting, the file still has to go to the PSO shop. Good luck to all!

    The Post-pandemic Canadian Armed Forces

So...what is the official work on a pay increase for the CAF? It's been almost 4 years... From what I can tell; nothing. For the most recent pay raises, we knew around fall timeframe. This time around? SFA. As mentioned...PSAC has their pay increase. We are the group that can get told to...

    The Post-pandemic Canadian Armed Forces

Well, the near future is certain, for some people who will have their postings cut this year. Anywhere from 30 to 50% slashes to cost moves this APS. Thankfully, we've given lots of money away for stupid shit so...those members and families will be nothing but grateful. Next "bad news" for...

    The Post-pandemic Canadian Armed Forces

Reading thru the article...I am wondering how much the impact had on the training system because "it shut down temporarily", vice "recruiting numbers". Most trades have untrained members (PATs) who are waiting; my trade had a good sized buffer last spring (I was looking after BTL folks at that...

Non-Commissioned Pilots in the RCAF Discussion

The post I made earlier seems to be the direction WRT pay for COT (NCM or Officer). Maybe I am reading it wrong (it was a long day...), but I think a Pilot Major who was COTd to a GSO classification and dropped to Capt, would be at PI 10 on OT. "...but not to exceed the rate of pay for the...

    General Vance - Inappropriate conduct?

I could be wrong but this sounds like a PRes mess. Reg Force messes' have Mess Managers, in my experience and/or memory. Assuming it is a PRes unit...I've been V-PMC, PMC of Messes' during my PRes time. The PMC certainly didn't outrank the CO in those cases.

Gender Advisors - NATO, UN "CONOPs" and policy

Way better than GBA+. I'd say scrap GBA + and just get people to do these. Is the Tac Questioning an NATO ADL? ADL 364 "Questioning Techniques" by any chance? (list of current ADLs with MITEs associated with them attached)

Gender Advisors - NATO, UN "CONOPs" and policy

Some of the Snr Officer/Strat or Operational level experienced types might have a shot at stuff like that. I had no idea there was a 'cive market' for these skills...

Gender Advisors - NATO, UN "CONOPs" and policy

The GENAD (Gender Advisor) concept/employment is fairly recent to most of us "rank and file" in the CAF; like some mbr's, I initially scoffed at the idea. Since then, however, I've taken a bit of time to do some free online NATO courses (that have MITE codes), that go into the background...

    General Vance - Inappropriate conduct?

It does...but none that point a finger more harshly at a junior rank than should be pointed at the senior rank...or so I've been taught by trusted superiors/mentors over the years. The bigger the separation in rank, the more "pointed" the finger at the superior should be, IMO. To quote a...

Non-Commissioned Pilots in the RCAF Discussion

I'd typed out a reply "why not pilots, we do it for all trades"...and then thought "I'd better read the policy...". CBI 204.03 Pay on occupation transfer 204.03(2) (Rate of pay - compulsory occupational transfer) Subject to paragraph (3), the rate of pay of an officer or non-commissioned...

Non-Commissioned Pilots in the RCAF Discussion

The sounds like Aircrew Allowance...and it isn't much. Aircrew Allowance (AIRCRA) isn't based on trade, but on points (every month you are in a flying position and collect AIRCRA= 1 point, basically). Should pilots make more AIRCRA than the other Commissioned/Non-commissioned aircrew trades...

You Want To Be A Pilot : 2018 - present

Just to add, those OT OUTCAP numbers don't apply to NCM trades/pers that are applying for Commissioning thru UTPNCM, as an example. For anyone who is ISS and wants to read the info, do a search for and go to the DPGR site (Director Personnel Generation Requirements) IntraNet/DWAN site. Once...
