- My two cents...if you wish to join today's Canadian Forces, I ask these simple things of you: Be ready to train-to excel in your training, to care about helping your colleagues excel, to ensure the guy/gal to your left and right is taken care of, look out for each other-always. If you can't hack training, the real world will eat you alive. Make the most of your training and keep focused. We train people to succeed-do your part, work hard and you'll make it. Finishing training is not the end-it's your beginning. Above all else-BE READY TO DEPLOY, DO THE JOB AND COMPLETE THE MISSION. If you're thinking of joining up and don't want to deploy to a foreign country on a Tour, do us a favour and walk right by the Recruiting Centre and keep on going, thank you and good luck to you. That's all I ask of you. I hope you ask the same of yourself and your colleagues.

If you are not an Infantier in this army, then your role is supporting the Infantier through your trade. Never forget that-it's why you're here.
Sgt BECKMAN, 2 PPCLI, my Basic Trg DS, St-Jean, and I've never forgotten that.
