I agree, and I agree that governments at all levels have bungled housing and municipal planning for decades. So all levels of governmetn should be looking at ways they can reduce the factors hurting supply. I suspect the young people who played by "the rules" and are locked out of home...

That is true to an extent, but is no more universally true than the idea that most of the property owning immigrants were already wealthy before coming here and used that wealth to buy into a safe real-estate market. Like most things, there are a variety of factors at play.

Combine that with, "get this money somewhere safe" as well as borrowing against the first property to finance the second, and maybe it's less that "domestic" Canadians are lazy slobs and more that rich people from outside are flooding cash into a safe market.

Not really, governments hand out research money all the time based on their policies, and your research needs to align with the expectations if you ever expect to receive money again. Just because one side is bad does not mean the other is good.

No, it's supposed to be between 1.25m and 2m, with the average being about 1.5m. Then you need to account for the various "classes" of observation sites, based on how well the sensors are sited. My job is inspection weather stations, and I can assure you that few meet the Class 1 standard...

Which is why I find it amusing when people claim it's "distinctly Canadian"... It's not Canadian, it's a Wish version of the US Army uniform of the time.

It's the part of the country the CPC can afford to burn the most political capital, and it would be in the premier's interest to not alienate the CPC base in Alberta too much.

Should we stand up a new command under a two star to investigate this further?

I also suspect their expertise in navigating government contracting will be a massive help as well.
