That sounds typical for the CAF, just like announcing you can wear mess dress with the "distinctive CAF Retiree Insignia" on the lower left sleeve of the mess dress jacket when you retire but don't actually have the insignia available (even in picture form).
I suggest contacting the LCMM for the helmet within DSSPM and they will be able to tell you if such a part exists and if it does what the NSN would be. If you look up the CVC helmet in the catalog you will find the name of the LCMM and/or Technical Authority for it.
Which is a pain. I wish the full dress manual had a chapter on environmental dress where each element put their relevant info. Would make it much easier especially for supervisors that have people from different elements under their command.
Personally I don't like carrying items in my pant pockets when in the field as it just rubs against the legs. I much prefer items in a pack or pouch. The most I may have is a map or maybe something soft like a pair of gloves.
The current CCUE shirt is buttons. FOCE (Flying Operational Clothing Ensemble) will be very similar with changes to ensure it conforms to flight safety, such as a zipper if required (I am not aware if it is or not).
That could have been me as I was one of two military pers wearing the uniform at DSSPM's display. :D
We had a civilian DND employee wearing the maternity cut of the uniform as well.
