Are There Reserved Parking Spaces on Canadian Bases ?

SSM 2 Sqn...of 2 Sig Sqn? Do you know of Ray Heppenstall who was SSM 2Sqn c. 1966? I was attached/posted to 2 Sqn when they were on ex in Gagetown. I also remember a Sgt Humphrey who was Tpt NCO.

    CFR PLATES

Since we're now the CanadianArmy, shouldn't the CFR be referred to as the CAR? The CAR (Canadian Army Registration) was used up until about Hellyer's foolishness.

    Sky Hooks and Shore Line

We always got a chuckle out of sending a rookie Dvr/Stmn over to Transport Stores for the special bulb for the rear license plate light for an MLVW.

    Dog Tags

Interesting to note that the previous designation MUS (Muslim) has been replaced by ISL (Islam). A Muslim is the person; Islam is the religion. I wonder what reasoning led to the change?

More and more funnies.. vol: something...

Good one, though 40+ years old. The way I heard it was that the Scotish soldier returned the next and announced to the chemist that it was the decision of the Regiment to have it vulcanized.  (Vulcanize...old country expression meaning to repair rubber objects with applied heat).

    Revised CF Service Pin

Looking for information please. I just read in the most recent edition of Maple Leaf that the Service Pin has been revised and is available in the usual bronze, silver, gold styles. I copied down the two net references contained in the article, but...no such luck googling those references...

    C/S for Sig O 1 RCR c.1971

Tango 18A...Roger that and thanks. I'm hoping that you find out that 91 would have been also applicable in 1971.

    C/S for Sig O 1 RCR c.1971

The subject line pretty well says it all. Can anyone advise the call sign for the Signal Officer attached to 1 RCR in 1971? I own a 1971 M38AlCDN3, CFR 09048. It's provenance shows that it spent most of its time with 1 RCR. I'm in the process of installing a dual IKEE (AN/VRC-46, AN/VRC-125)...

    MLVW restrictions

This just in from LFCA TC Meaford. Because of trunnion (whatever they are...suspension item?) problems, the following restrictions apply: 1. No troop transport, 2. No ammo transport, 3. Max allowable road speed=60kph. Because of the above, perhaps MSVS dvr trg will accelerate.

    Cadet Wing Review Longbranch 1918

I lived on 42nd St in Long Branch in the 50s. The sound of gunfire from the CAL range was a very commonplace thing. The CAL plant was actually in Lakeview, to the west of the Etobicoke Creek, not in Long Branch. Go figure. I recall the front admin building becoming an Armoury for a short time...

US WW2 Tuskegee Airmen's lone Ace dies

Arlington Cemetary, Washington DC, 18 Jul 2002, a large funeral cortege arrives. Overhead, modern F 15s and F 16s as well as a pair of P51D Mustangs fly overhead. A 17 gun salute marks the ceremony for the internment of General Benjamin O. Davis Jr, Commander of the Tuskogee Airmen during WW...
