I'm Private from Service Battalion of Canada. I am an infantry soldier who has been deployed overseas on a UN peacekeeping mission.

In the past, soldiers would have to rely on pen and paper to write letters home to their loved ones. Now, technology has made it possible for these soldiers to stay in touch with their loved ones through email, Facebook and Skype.

This is important because it helps keep our military strong by connecting them with their loved ones back home. It also helps our troops feel less homesick while they're away fighting for us.
