21000 Kicked Out So Far
Under the out or deploy policy has seen 21000 kicked out so far. Rather than lose your job might as well deploy, after all that's why people join the military.

WASHINGTON — About 21,000 nondeployable troops have been forced out of the ranks since the Defense Department’s “deploy or get out” policy began last summer, Acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan announced on Thursday.
“A key element of strengthening our military and increasing lethality is ensuring our warfighters achieve established physical, mental and security vetting standards,” he told members of the Senate Armed Services Committee during a hearing on the fiscal 2020 budget request.
“War is unforgiving, and our mission demands we remain a standards-based organization.”

I wonder how many Canadian forces members are non-deployable.

One could argue that, in some cases, they've been lied to.

Recruiting propaganda tends to de-emphasize 'close with and destroy' while overemphasizing career opportunities, quality of life and all that other BS that isn't about going to lots of crummy places to kill bad people (or change tires or push paper or serve meals etc).

The problem with the CAF is that many seem to think they are entitled to do 25-35 years even if they can't (or won't) pull their weight for a good chunk of that. We promote slower too, and are older on average. We still medically release lots of people, but I feel like there are lot in the CAF who are "clinging on" and really should move aside.

Saw this in Recruiting. Sounds like some CAF applicants are less than enthusiastic about the idea of deploying,

I noticed that France pays a kind of deployment pay of around 100000 Euros to entice troops to deploy. If the US would follow suit we might have less of a problem.
